Like its older sibling Display, our Mobile Department helps promote engaging rich media and native ads for CPI, CPC, CPA and CPM campaigns. Accedo works with all the major platforms and DSPs but puts emphasis on working directly with apps and mobile optimized sites so our demand partners have fresh audiences relevant to their offers. In turn, our supply partners benefit from engaging direct offers with profitable eCPMs.

Southeast Asia is catching up to everyone else, and doing it fast.
There is a lot going on in the longitudes between Indonesia and Thailand. It’s worth reading all about it in the deck we put together. But the biggest take-away is that the region is adopting mobile advertising very very fast. The portion of advertisers on our platform who are buying mobile ads quadrupled last year. When we next revisit the topic of Mobile, we may find it titled 5 Ways Southeast Asia is Leading in Mobile Video Ads.
The French go where the users are: into the app.
Most people around the world spend more time in apps than in their web browser. Advertisers, though, haven’t fully kept up with this trend – except in France. France has the highest portion of ads placed in apps versus browsers. Marketers there are doing what all marketers aspire to do: go where the audience is. And they’re getting some impressive engagement rates for it.
Australians give you 10 seconds to keep their attention… or else.
Most people in most countries watch the first 15-20 seconds of a mobile ad before about 5-10% of them then click away or close the app, leaving the rest to finish the video. Australia is very different. They seem to be super-polite at first, with over 90% of people watching that first ten seconds. But then, if you haven’t kept their attention, fully a quarter of them stop watching the ad.
Japan is big into premium mobile video ads, but for less boost than you’d expect.
Japanese advertisers are big fans of premium inventory deals. This is no great surprise. What is interesting is that they get less advantage out of those deals than most other countries who buy less. The Japanese get about an 8 percentage point boost in completion rate from this kind of inventory. In France, that number is over three times as large, but they buy one third as much (as a portion of overall spend.)
Australians love Friday night, but...
Only three items in and we’re back on Australia again. It turns out that Australians have one of the biggest peaks in viewing of ad-supported video. They really dig in on their phones and tablets come Friday night. Apparently not everyone knocks off to the pub as soon as the weekend hits.
...Brazilians like to watch videos all weekend?
But if the Australians are Friday video viewers, at least they seem to go out and do other things on the weekend. It’s the Brazilians who really manage to buck their stereotype. They start watching video come Thursday and just stick with it all weekend. They must still be recovering from Carnival
Americans get the best value for mobile.
Despite the US often lagging the rest of the world in mobile phones, data speeds and most things mobile, US advertisers are getting the best deal on mobile in the world. Viewable mobile video ads are one third the cost of viewable desktop video ads in The States. That’s a better ratio than anywhere else in the world.
